A Clay County man faces attempted murder charges for ramming a police cruiser during an attempted traffic stop. Investigators say someone reported that Gary Daniels was driving a stolen car. When officers approached Daniels, he rammed a police cruiser, then hit a tree. That’s when he jumped out of the car and took off on foot, eventually jumping into a river before he was pulled out several miles downstream. He’s being held in the Clay County jail on suspicion of attempted murder, receiving stolen property, and several other crimes.
