It was a devastating holiday weekend in our area when in comes to fatal car accidents. Overall, we’re actually on track to have fewer deadly car crashes in Kentucky this year than in the past several years. According to Kentucky State Police… there were about 640 fatal accidents state-wide in 2014… and the numbers have been dropping ever since. Jefferson and Fayette Counties saw the most deadly crashes, with Hardin, Laurel, and Pike counties rounding out the top 5. Troopers say they notice that more drivers and passengers are wearing their seatbelts, which can make a big difference.
