The Whitesburg Christmas Parade and Christmas in Our Hometown will be tonight in downtown Whitesburg. The parade starts at 6:00pm and the streets shutdown at 5:30pm.
The Grand Marshal is Rachel Breeding from Whitesburg ARH.
Prizes for best floats will be 1st place $200.00, 2nd $100.00 and 3rd $50.00 plus crowd pleaser $100.00.
All downtown businesses are encouraged to decorate. The best decorated windows in downtown Whitesburg will be judged today with 1st, 2nd and 3rd place trophies.
Summit Church will be set up near the downtown Christmas tree(next to the Veterans Museum) with a bonfire, hot chocolate and refreshments after the parade.
Also after the parade Santa will be at the Harry M. Caudill Library on Main Street with treats for all kids.
There will be lots of other activities throughout downtown as well including free horse-drawn wagon rides, giving trees sponsored by local businesses & organizations, Cornerstone Church apple dumplings for sale along with free hot dogs, live nativity scene, bonfire with refreshments, live Christmas caroling and many other events.
