This coming weekend Pikeville, Corbin and Johnson Central will represent the mountains in the KHSAA high school football state championship games.
Last night in the state semi-finals:
in Class A, Pikeville beat Raceland 38-19 and Beechwood knocked off Campbellsville 48-13.
Class 2A Christian Academy of Louisville beat Somerset 35-12 and Mayfield got by Walton-Verona 38-7.
In Class 3A, Central beat Larue County 48-8 and Corbin shutout Boyle County 21-0.
Class 4A saw Johnson Central blast 59-20 and Franklin-Simpson shutout Taylor County 33-0.
In Class 5A, Covington-Catholic beat Pulaski County 36-14 and South Warren over South Oldham 31-10.
Class 6A had Male bearing Louisville Trinity 27-20 and Scott County beating Madison Central 40-6.
Next weekend’s football state championship games will be as follows:
Class A Friday November 30 at 2:00pm
