A Harlan County man faces assault charges for allegedly pushing a police officer. The incident happened Sunday when a Sheriff’s Deputy stopped to help a driver with their disabled vehicle on Kentucky 30-01. Once he pulled up to help, the deputy recognized the driver as 50-year old Gene Posey, and knew Posey did not have a valid driver’s license. A records check also confirmed that he had an active warrant out for his arrest. As the officer tried taking him into custody, Posey pushed him. During a scuffle… some suspected meth fell out of Posey’s pocket.
