Clay County emergency officials released the name of a hunter found dead in Clay County.
According to Coroner Danny Finley, the 65-year-old man was identified as Daniel Chappell, of Science Hill.
Crews were first dispatched to the Johns Creek area around 8:00 Wednesday night.
When they arrived, officials say Finley was found lying 12 to 20 feet underneath the tree stand he was using to hunt.
The coroner’s office is still working to determine if Chappell died from the fall or a medical emergency.
Though no foul play is suspected, an autopsy has been requested.
