The Letcher County Board of Education will get help from the Kentucky School Boards Association in its efforts to find a new superintendent. Current Superintendent Tony Sergent [SIR-gent] plans to retire at the end of this month. He’s held the post for five years, and according to reports from the Kentucky Education Association makes 120-thousand dollars a year in the post. The board is expected to name an interim superintendent to fill the seat until a permanent replacement can be found. The board is also looking for volunteers to participate in a search committee.
