Police in Virginia continue to investigate a deadly shooting.
Police were called to the Holly Court area of Norton, for a vehicle matching the description of the suspect’s car.
They then noticed a man matching the suspect’s description nearby. He was taken in for questioning by Virginia State Police.
The shooting victim has been identified as 34-year-old Lee David Lips of Pennington Gap.
Virginia State Police described the suspect as between the age of 25 to 30 years of age. The suspect is said to be possibly a medium build black man, with a beard, and short hair.
The suspect was said to be driving a 2003 or a 2004 Toyota Avalon with a temporary paper license plate.
Officers say they obtained a search warrant to search an apartment the suspect reportedly came out of.
At last check, no arrests have been made.
State and local police are investigating a fatal shooting in Lee County, Virginia.
Lee County Sheriff Gary Parsons said the call came in at 7:28 p.m. from someone who said he’d been shot at his home in the 100 block of Virginia Avenue in Pennington Gap.
The victim was taken to Lonesome Pine Hospital where he was pronounced dead.
