Officials with the Bell County Detention Center say a former employee of the jail in now behind bars after he helped an inmate escape.
The escape happened a little more than three weeks ago on Thursday, June 21.
Jailer Gary Ferguson says Brian Ward was operating the control room at the jail when the escape happened.
He could not elaborate on what took place that leads police to believe Ward is responsible for the escape. Ferguson says he conducted an internal investigation and says information gathered shows Ward helped Jordan Partin escape the jail by giving him access to several doors.
Ferguson returned to the jail the day the escape happened from a jailer training program in Bowling Green.
He says he told Ward the following morning his services were no longer required at the jail the following morning.
Information from WRIL shows troopers with Kentucky State Police arrested 32-year-old Brian Ward of Flat Lick on Friday, July 13.
Ward is being held in the Bell County Detention Center.
He is charged with complicity to commit escape 2nd degree and is being held on a $100,000 bond.
