A grand jury indicted a woman Thursday for manslaughter after a crash killed another woman.
January 16, two vehicles crashed on Chloe Road in Pikeville. Two people were injured and taken to a hospital.
Kara B. Patrick, 24, died at the hospital. She left behind a husband and three young boys.
Police originally believed slick roads were a contributing factor in the crash, however, a grand jury made a different ruling.
Kristen Damron, 24, of Elkhorn City was indicted for second-degree manslaughter.
According to the indictment, Damron “operated a motor vehicle in such a wanton manner as to cause the death of Kara Patrick.”
Damron is in the Pike County Detention Center. Her arraignment is set for July 13 at 9:30 a.m.
