Traffic will be impacted Tuesday, June 26, on KY 3400, Fish Pond Road (mile point 1) at Jenkins from 9 a.m. until 2:30 p.m. and at the same time on Thursday, June 28, on KY 3408. Elk Creek Road (mile point 1) at Blackey off KY 7 to replace cross drains that run underneath the pavement.
Highway District 12 Superintendent Billy Smallwood said the crew must open cut the roadway to remove the failed cross drains and install new ones. The new ones are then covered and the pavement put back in place.
“We hope that in each instance, within four or five hours, weather permitting, we can have the road back open,” Smallwood said. “We are sorry for the inconvenience, but this will improve drainage on these roads and that will make them safer for everyone.”
