A Barbourville man is accused of hacking into someone else’s Facebook May 22 and threatening to kill all police officers in Knox County.
Emerson Johnson, 33, of Barbourville, was arrested and charged with third-degree terroristic threatening, first-degree disorderly conduct and third-degree criminal mischief.
Police said they initially interviewed the man the Facebook belonged to and found out from the man that he had been hacked.
The man did not have access to the device the threatening message was sent to police from.
He told police Johnson had hacked into his Facebook and sent the message.
Police said Johnson admitted to police he hacked into the man’s Facebook account and sent the message.
A cell phone, which belonged to Johnson was signed into the man’s Facebook account, police said.
Johnson was taken to the Knox County Detention Center.
