A Kentucky State Police Commercial Vehicle Enforcement officer hit a vehicle on I-75 Thursday, killing the Laurel County driver.
Officials say that an older man was parked on the shoulder of the interstate. He allegedly then turned into the officer’s path.
We have learned that the name of the Kentucky State Police Vehicle Enforcement Officer is Christopher McQueen.
McQueen struck a 1995 Cadillac Eldorado operated by John McQueen.
Christopher McQueen and his passenger Mary K. Reed were transported to Saint Joseph Hospital in London where they were treated for non-life threatening injuries.
John McQueen was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the collision. John McQueen was pronounced dead at the scene by the Laurel County Coroner.
It is unclear if the two were related.
