Investigators think an attempt at an u-turn may have led to a deadly crash on the Mountain Parkway late Tuesday morning.
The crash happened in the westbound lanes near mile marker 16 in Clay City.
Investigators believe the driver of a tractor trailer, which was hauling lumber, may have missed an exit, and was attempting to make an u-turn across the median. However, they say a car then slammed into the back of the tractor trailer.
Investigators say the woman driving the car was killed, and two passengers were injured. The name of the woman killed has not been released.
The westbound lanes of the Mountain Parkway were closed for several hours Tuesday, but reopened around 3 p.m.
