The boys 14th Region Tournament got underway last night at Perry County Central High School with 2 games. Cordia beat Hazard 62-49 and Estill County beat Wolfe County 66-57. Tonight’s boys 14th Region tournament games will be Breathitt County against Knott County Central at 6 followed by Perry County Central playing Powell County around 8.
The boys semi-finals will be Monday with the championship game all at Perry County Central.
The boys 13th Region Tournament also began last night at the Arena in Corbin.
Knox Central beat Harlan 86-54 and it was Corbin over Jackson County 67-47. Tonight in the 13th region boys tournament Harlan County plays South Laurel at 6 followed by North Laurel against Lynn Camp around 8.
The boys 15th Region Tournament got underway last night at the Expo Center in Pikeville. Belfry got by Shelby Valley 65-62 and Johnson Central beat Prestonsburg 76-65.
Tonight in the boys 15th Region Pikeville plays Pike County Central and Floyd Central takes on Paintsville.
On Friday in the 14th Region girls Tournament semi-finals Hazard will play Lee County at 6 followed by Knott County Central against Powell County. The championship game will be Saturday at 7 all at Estill County.
The 13th region girls tournament semi-finals on Friday from the Arena in Corbin will be Harlan County playing South Laurel at 6 then Whitley County faces North Laurel around 8.
On Friday in the girls 15th region semi-finals Shelby Valley will play Johnson Central at 6 with Pikeville playing Sheldon Clark around 8.
The #23 Kentucky Wildcats rolled past Ole Miss last night 96-78 in the regular season home final last night. Kevin Knox leds the Cats with 22 and Quade Green added 18. Shai Gilgeous-Alexander had 17 points, a career-high 10 assists and seven rebounds. Wenyen Gabriel added 15 points and PJ Washington 10 as the Wildcats (now 21-9 overall and 10-7 Southeastern Conference) won their fourth consecutive game and home “senior night” finale, the first without any departing seniors under Coach Cal.
The Cats will play at Florida on Saturday to finish the regular season. Game time is 12 noon on Saturday with pre-game starting at 10:30 Saturday morning here on the Bulldog.
