LETCHER COUNTY CENTRAL & JENKINS BOYS/GIRLS BASKETBALL

The high school basketball season is less than 2 weeks away from post season play as the regular season begins to wind down.  The Letcher County Central Cougar Boys  have 3 more regular season games and their next game will be on the road at Hazard against the Bulldogs this Friday night Feb 10th.  JV will play at 6:00pm and the Varsity tipoff is set for 7:30pm.

The 20-4 Letcher County Central Lady Cougars will be on the road for their final 3 games of the regular season.  Up next will be a district matchup against the Jenkins Lady Cavaliers at Jenkins this Friday night Feb 10th.  It's a Varsity only game with tipoff at 7:30pm.  The Lady Cougars play at Booneville against Owsley County on Saturday.  JV at 2:00pm with Varsity at 3:30pm.

The Jenkins Lady Cavaliers have 4 games left in the regular season and they next play LCC Friday night at home.

The Jenkins Cavalier Boys have 6 games remaining in the regular season and will be in action tonight at home against Riverside Christian in a Varsity only game set for a 7:00pm tipoff.

The 53rd District Boys and Girls Tournament will be held at Jenkins High School and begins on Monday Feb 20th.

The game of the week and maybe of the year during regular season play in 14th Region Boys Basketball is tonight when 14th Region #1 Knott Central takes on #2 Perry County Central at Knott Central in Hindman.  These two teams are also ranked #9 and #10 in the latest AP KY High School rankings.  Gametime is 7:30pm and the game will be aired lived on WYMT-TV.

 

COUGAR WRESTLING TEAM IN REGION

Letcher County Central Cougar Wrestling Team will take part in the KHSAA Region 8 Wrestling Tournament this Saturday morning at 10:00am at Johnson Central High School in Paintsville.


UK WILDCATS BASKETBALL

The #1 UK Wildcats, 24-1 overall and a perfect 10-0 on the season will be on the road this Saturday night and it will be another tough test this,  The Cats will take on the Vanderbilt Commodores in Nashville Saturday night   This game will be part of ESPN College Game Day.  Tipoff Saturday night is set for 9:00pm with The Countdown to Tipoff Show beginning at 7:30pm.
