Congratulations to the Perry County Central Lady Commodores and Coach Randy Napier.  They won a very good Girls 2014 14th Region Tournament after beating Powell County 59-54 Saturday night in the championship game at Leslie County.   

Perry Central will play a team yet to be determined from Region 1 this Thursday March 13th at 1:00pm in the Girls Sweet 16 State Tournament at Diddle Arena in Bowling Green.

The Shelby Valley Lady Wildcats are 15th Region champions and will return to the state tournament for the 2nd year in a row after being Johnson Central 39-30 in the Region championship game Saturday night.

Shelby Valley will play Danville in the Sweet 16 Wednesday afternoon at 2:30pm.

The Corbin Lady Redhounds are the 13th Region Champs, beating Harlan Independent 59-40 in the championship game Sunday.  

Corbin will take on George Rogers Clark out of Winchester in the Sweet 16 opening round Thursday at 2:30pm.  

You can hear all 15 games of the Girls Sweet 16 State Tournament starting this Wednesday, live on AM 920 WTCW- The Mountains' All Sports Station.

The Boys 14th Region Semi-finals will get underway tonight at the John C. Combs Arena at Perry County Central.

In game 1 tonight at 6:30pm  Breathitt County will take on Knott County Central and at 8:00pm it's Hazard against Wolfe County.

The Boys Championship game will be Tuesday at 7:00pm at Perry Central.

The Boys Sweet 16 State Tournament begins March 19th at Rupp Arena in Lexington.

The UK Women fell one point shy of an SEC Tournament Championship yesterday losing to Tennessee in the Title Game 71-70.  

It was their fourth SEC Tournament Championship game in the last 5 years.  

The UK Wildcat Men, 22-9 and 12-6 in the SEC, lost to #1 Florida Saturday on the road 85-64.

The Cats will begin play later this week in the SEC Tournament in Catlanta.  

The tourney begins Wednesday but the Cats, as the #2 seed, won't play until Friday at 7:00pm in the quarterfinals, when they play the winner of the LSU-Alabama game.  Pre-Game will begin at 5:30pm Friday night here on the Bulldog.

We'll have the Coach Cal Show, Big Blue Weekly and Matthew Mitchell Show all tonight on the Bulldog, starting at 6:00pm.
