The Letcher County Central Wrestling Team competed in the Regionals in Ashland over the weekend and Dakota Green placed as an alternate in the state meet in Lexington.

Knott County Central beat Leslie County 70-65

The Letcher County Central Lady Cougars have wrapped up the season with no games scheduled this week.  

They finish the regular season at 19-7 and will be the #1 seed in the 53rd District Tournament.

The 15-10 Jenkins Lady Cavaliers have 3 games left this week.  

They play at Shelby Valley tonight, Pike County Central at home Thursday and Betsy Layne at home Friday.  All games tip off at 6:00pm.

Oneida Bapt(OBI) beat Harlan City 89-79

The 14-11 Letcher County Central Cougar Boys will have 2 games left in the regular season this week.

Senior night for the Cougar boys was scheduled for tonight but has been changed to Thursday night.  

Tonight, LCC boys will play Buckhorn at home and then Pike County Central Thursday night.  

Again the Pike Central game Thursday will be boys Senior night at LCC for 3 players and 5 cheerleaders.  

The 4-20 Jenkins Cavalier will have 3 games to wrap up the regular season this week.  

They play at Hazard tonight, at Buckhorn on Thursday and at home against Betsy Layne Friday.

The 53rd District Boys & Girls Tournaments will be held next week, starting Monday, at Knott County Central.

The UK Wildcats will play at Ole Miss tonight in their next game.  

Tipoff from Oxford is at 7:00pm.

This is the final week of regular season play for boys & girls high school basketball before district tournaments begin on Monday February 24th.

Unless they re-schedule a missed game, the Letcher County Central Lady Cougars have wrapped up the season with no games scheduled this week.  

They finish the regular season at 19-7 and will be the #1 seed in the 53rd District Tournament.

The 15-10 Jenkins Lady Cavaliers have 3 games left this week.  

They play at Shelby Valley Tuesday, Pike County Central at home Thursday and Betsy Layne at home Friday.  

The 14-11 Letcher County Central Cougar Boys will have 2 games left in the regular season this week.   

Tuesday night they play Buckhorn at home for Senior Night honoring Josh Owens, Chippy Frazier and Kyler Lucas.  

We'll broadcast the LCC-Buckhorn game Tuesday night.  

Tipoff is 7:30 and the Appalachian Wireless Pre-Game Show begins at 7 here on the Bulldog.    

The Cougars will wrap up the season at home against Pike County Central on Thursday.

Jennifer O'Neil scored 24 points and sparked a comeback as the #18 Kentucky Women rallied for a 75-71 victory over #8 Tennessee on Sunday, earning them their first win in Knoxville since 1985.

The #14 UK men lost to #3 Florida on Saturday night 69-59 for their first loss in Rupp this season.  

Kentucky will play at Ole Miss on Tuesday night in their next game.

The Letcher County Central Lady Cougars game against Perry County Central last night was postponed due to the weather.

The Lady Cougars will finish up the regular season on the road Friday night at Shelby Valley.

JV at 6.  Varsity at 7:30.

The 15-9 Jenkins Lady Cavaliers next game will be on the road at Perry County Central this Saturday with varsity only and tip off at 6:00pm.

The 14-11 LCC Cougar boys are scheduled to play at home tonight against Breathitt County.  

JV at 6. Varsity at 7:30.

The Cats are 19-5 overall and 9-2 in the SEC.  They have a huge game Saturday at home against the league leading Florida Gators.

Many high school basketball games were cancelled across the mountains last night due to the weather.   

Here's a look at some upcoming games, weather permitting, as we enter the final week of the regular season next week.

The 19-7 Letcher County Central Lady Cougars will finish up the regular season on the road tonight at Shelby Valley.

JV at 6.  Varsity at 7:30.

The 15-9 Jenkins Lady Cavaliers have 4 games left and the next game will be on the road at Perry County Central, tomorrow, Saturday and it's varsity only with tip off at 6:00pm.

The 14-11 LCC Cougar boys have 2 games left and are scheduled to play Buckhorn at home this Tuesday in their next game.  It will be senior night for Josh Owens, Chippy Frazier and Kyler Lucas.

The Jenkins Lady Cavaliers improved to 15-9 overall with a district win at Cordia last night.   

The final was 80-29.  

The Lady Cavaliers will next play at Perry County Central this Saturday with varsity only and tip off at 6:00pm.

Also last night in girls HS basketball:

Shelby Valley beat Knott County Central 51-45 and it was Hazard over Buckhorn 59-45.

The Letcher County Central Lady Cougars are on the road tonight at Perry County Central in a 14th Region big game, weather permitting.
