The Boys 14th Region Basketball Tournament continued Thursday night at Perry County Central.

Last night's two games were Hazard over Cordia 70-65 and Wolfe County beat Powell County 57-46.

The Boys 14th Region semi-finals on Monday at Perry Central are now set.

In game 1 at 6:30 Monday Breathitt County will play Knott County Central and in game 2 at 8:15 Monday Hazard takes on Wolfe County.  

The Boys championship game will be Tuesday at 7:00pm.

The Boys Sweet 16 State Tournament will be March 19th-23rd at Rupp Arena in Lexington.

The Girls 14th Region Tournament semi-finals will be tonight at Leslie County.

Game 1 at 6:30 this evening, Leslie County will take on Powell County and then game 2, around 8:15, will be Perry County Central battling Breathitt County.

The Girls championship game will be Saturday night at 7.

The Girls Sweet 16 State Tournament will be next week, March 12th through the 16th in Bowling Green at Diddle Arena.

The Reds have now lost 4 in a row in Spring Training games.  

They will have split squad games today in Arizona.  

They will play the White Sox at 3:05 and the Mariners at 3:05.

The Reds season begins March 31st at home in a 3 game series against the St. Louis Cardinals.

The LCC Boys open March 17th at home against Leslie County.

The Jenkins Boys open March 18th at home against Phelps.

The LCC Girls open March 31st at South Floyd

It's the final game of the regular season this Saturday as the #25 UK Wildcats will travel to Gainsville to play the #1 Florida Gators.

Pre-Game is at 10:30am tomorrow morning with tip off at 12noon here on 103.9 The Bulldog.  

The SEC Tournament begins Wednesday of next week in Atlanta.

The Cats are the #2 seed overall and will play the winner of the LSU- Vandy game on Friday.

The Boys 14th Region Basketball Tournament got underway last night at the John C. Combs Arena at Perry County Central.  

In game one Breathitt County beat Estill County 77-51 and in game two Knott County Central came from 9 down with 4:30 to go in the game to beat Perry County Central 56-51.

Breathitt County will now play Knott County Central in the Region semi-finals on Monday at 6:30pm.

Tonight's two games will be Cordia battling Hazard at 6:30pm followed by Powell County taking on Wolfe County at 8:15.

The boys semi-finals are Monday and championship game Tuesday , all at Perry County Central.  

The Boys State Tournament in Lexington begins March 19th.

The 14th Region Girls semi-finals will be Friday at Leslie County.

At 6:30pm Powell County plays Leslie County with Perry County Central facing Breathitt County around 8:15.

The championship game will be Saturday at 7.

The Girls Sweet 16 in Bowling Green begins this Wednesday March 12th.

The Reds have now lost 3 games in a row at Spring Training.   

The lost to the LA Dodgers last night 10-3.

Their overall record is 3-5 and play continues today in Arizona as the Reds face the San Francisco Giants at 3:05pm this afternoon.

The Girls 14th Region Tournament games scheduled for last night were postponed due to the weather and all 4 opening round games will be played today at Leslie County High School in Hyden.

Game 1 this afternoon will be Powell County vs. Jackson City then Letcher County Central will battle Leslie County at 4:00pm.

We'll bring you the LCC-Leslie County game on 103.9 The Bulldog WXKQ with Pre-Game at 3:30pm.

The gym at the Nixon Center will then be cleared after the first two games and fans will have to pay to re-enter for the 2 evening games.

At 6:30 Perry County Central plays Knott County Central and then at 8:15 it's Breathitt County vs. Lee County.

The girls 14th Region Tournament semi-finals will be on Friday and championship game on Saturday, all at Leslie County High School in Hyden.

The Boys 14th Region Tournament begins with opening round games Wednesday and Thursday at Perry County Central.

Wednesday at 6:30pm, Breathitt County plays Estill County and at 8:15 Knott County Central battles Perry County Central.

The Cincinnati Reds lost to the Seattle Mariners in Spring Training yesterday 6-5.

The Reds will play the Royals today in Cactus League play in Arizona.  

First pitch is at 3:05pm, pre-game at 2:50 on AM 920 WTCW.  

The Reds regular season schedule begins March 31st against the St. Louis Cardinals at Great American Ball Park.

The KY Wildcats are now ranked #25 in the latest poll and set at 21-8 overall and 11-5 in SEC play.  

The Cats have 2 game left in the regular season and will next play Alabama tonight at Rupp Arena.  

Tipoff is at 9:00pm tonight with Pre-Game at 7:30 here on the Bulldog.

The 2013-2014 season ended yesterday for the Letcher County Central Lady Cougars as they lost to the Leslie County Lady Eagles in the girls 14th Region Tournament held at Leslie County.    

The Lady Cougars finish at 21-8 and were led by Cheyenne Stidham with 16.  

Senior Kelli Quillen playing in her final game at LCC had a double double of 10 points and 10 rebounds.  

Leslie County All Region player Katie Moore had 31 points including 13 of 14 free throws.  She also had 15 rebounds.  

Leslie County advances to the semi-finals to play Powell County, who beat Jackson City 88-64 in the first game of the day.

The two games last night in the girls region tournament saw Perry County Central knock out Knott County Central 71-36 and Breathitt County beat Lee County 74-53.

The girls Region semi-finals will be Friday with Powell playing Leslie County at 6:30, followed by Perrry County Central and Breathitt County at 8:15.  

The championship game will be Saturday at 7:00pm.  All games at Leslie County High School in Hyden.

The Cincinnati Reds are now 3-4 in spring training games after losing to the Royals on Tuesday afternoon 9-5.

The Reds will now play the Dodgers tonight at 9:05pm.   Pregame begins at 8:50 this evening on AM 920 WTCW.

The UK Wildcats snapped a 2 game losing streak and beat Alabama last night 55-48 on Senior Night at Rupp Arena.  

The 2 Seniors are Jared Polson and Jon Hood.  

The 25th ranked Cats are now  22-8 overall and 12-5 in SEC play.  

With the win they become the 2nd seed in the SEC Tournament that begins March 12th in Atlanta.

UK will wrap up the regular season with a road trip to play the Florida Gators this Saturday.

The boys and girls 53rd District Championship games went down to the wire Friday and Saturday at Knott County Central.

The Letcher County Central Lady Cougars won the Girls district championship game Friday night 61-58 over Knott County Central.

The Lady Cougars withstood a furious comeback by the Lady Patriots to win a 3rd straight district championship.

In the boys championship game Saturday, the Knott County Central Patriots beat the Cordia Lions 62-60.  

Knott Central came back from 18 down to get the win and claim their 5th straight district championship.

The Boys and Girls 14th Region tournaments get underway this week.

The Girls opening round games will be Monday and Tuesday, semi-finals on Friday and championship game on Saturday, all at Leslie County High School in Hyden.

Tonight's two girls games will be Powell County and Jackson City at 6:30pm, followed by Letcher County Central against Leslie County, in maybe the toughest first round game, starting at 8:15.  

Weather permitting, we'll bring you the LCC-Leslie County game live here on the Bulldog with pre-game this evening around 7:45.

Tuesday night in the girls tournament at 6:30pm Perry County Central plays Knott County Central and Breathitt County takes on Lee County around 8:15.

The Cincinnati Reds are now 3-2 in Spring Training after picking up wins Saturday over the Rockies 3-2 and Sunday 15-4 over the Padres.  

They will play the Mariners this afternoon in Arizona.

The KY Wildcats lost to last place South Carolina on the road Saturday 72-67 to give them back to back losses and the Cats 3rd loss in 5 games.  

They are now 21-8 overall and 11-5 in SEC play.  

We'll have the Coach Cal Show with Tom Leach tonight at 6:00pm on the Bulldog, followed by Big Blue Weekly at 7.

The Cats have 2 game left in the regular season and will next play Alabama at Rupp Arena Tuesday night at 9:00pm.
