With an 8-1 win in the championship game over Wolfe County on Friday night, the Jenkins Lady Cavaliers are the 14th region All A champion for the 7th year in a row.  Wolfe County came into the championship game with a 12-1 record.  Jenkins has now won 8 games in a row and is 11-1 overall.   The Lady Cavaliers will advance to the All A State Tournament on Saturday & Sunday April 26th and 27th at Jack Fischer Park in Owensboro.   Jenkins next game is tonight in district action at Knott County Central.  Game time is 6:00pm.

The 4-5 Letcher County Central Lady Cougars are back in action today at Hazard against the Lady Bulldogs.  Game time is 6:00pm.   They play at home on Tuesday at 6:00pm against Central HS out of Wise County, VA.  

The Letcher County Central Cougars went 1-2 over the weekend in 3 road games and are now 6-7 overall.

The Cougars lost to Lawrence County Friday afternoon 8-5.  On Saturday they lost at Ravenswood, West Virginia 4-3 and beat Scott, West Virginia 6-4.

The Cougars have 3 home games this week and will play at home today in a county, district matchup against the 1-8 Jenkins Cavaliers.   Game time is 5:00pm.  We'll bring you today's LCC-Jenkins baseball game here on the Bulldog.  Pre-game begins at 4:45.  

The Reds took 1 game of 3 this weekend at home against the Tampa Bay Rays.   The Reds lost Friday 2-1 and 1-0 on Saturday before winning Sunday afternoon 12-4.

The Reds continue the 2 team, 6 game home stand as they play the first of 3 against the Pittsburgh Pirates tonight at Great American Ballpark.   First pitch tonight is at 7:10pm with pregame on AM 920 beginning at 6:40pm.

The 10-1 Jenkins Lady Cavaliers softball team will be back in action today in round 2 of the 14th Region All A Classic.

They will play at Knott County Central in  a district game Monday at 6:00pm.

The 4-6 Letcher County Central Lady Cougars next game will be at Hazard this Monday.  Game time is 6:00pm.

They play Central High School of Wise County at 6:00pm Tuesday at home and we'll bring you that game live here on the Bulldog.

In high school baseball, the 5-5 Letcher County Central will next play Lawrence County at Louisa this evening at 6:30pm.

The Cougars will then play 2 games tomorrow, Saturday,  on the road at Ravenswood, West Virginia and Scott, West Virginia.

The Jenkins Cavaliers baseball lost to Knott County Central on the road yesterday 25-14 in a slugfest.

The Cavaliers will next play at Letcher County Central this Monday in a county district matchup at 5:00pm.

The Letcher County Central Boys and Girls Track teams will compete tomorrow, Saturday, in the Lake Cumberland Classic at Meece Middle School in Somerset.  23 other teams will be there.  The meet begins at 9:45am.

The LCC Cougar Boys and Girls Tennis teams will have a home match against Oneida Baptist at 5:30pm this afternoon.

The Cincinnati Reds are 3-6 on the year and tied with the Chicago Cubs for last place in the NL Central, 4 games behind Milwaukee.
 
The Reds begin a 3 game weekend series at home against the Tampa Bay Rays tonight.   First pitch this evening is at 7:10 and 1:10pm on both Saturday and Sunday.

In high school baseball, Knott County Central remains unbeaten at 6-0 after beating Letcher County Central at LCC last night 5-3.  

The Cougars are 5-5 and next play at Louisa against Lawrence County Friday at 6:30pm.

The Jenkins Cavaliers will next play at Letcher County Central this Monday in a county district matchup at 5:00pm.

In high school softball, the Letcher County Central Lady Cougars lost 2-1 in a close one to East Ridge at home last night.

The 4-6 Lady Cougars will play at Belfry this afternoon at 6:00pm and at Cordia in a district game Thursday at 6:00pm.

The Jenkins Lady Cavaliers will play this Saturday in the Lafayette Invitational Round Robin in Lexington.

The Reds have dropped 5 out of 6 games and 2 in a row against the Cardinals in St. Louis after losing 7-5 on Tuesday night.  

The Reds are 2-6 on the young season.  The Reds and Cardinals will have the series wrap up this afternoon.  

Pre-game begins at 1:15pm with first pitch at 1:45pm on AM 920, your home for Reds baseball in the mountains.

The Reds are off on Thursday before a 3 game home weekend series against the Tampa Bay Rays.

The Jenkins Lady Cavaliers softball team won their 7th game in a row Tuesday after beating Leslie County 10-2 in the opening round game of the 14th Region All A Classic.   

The 10-1 Lady Cavaliers will play a team to be announced in round 2 of the 14th Region All A this Friday.

They will also take part in the Lafayette Invitational Round Robin this Saturday in Lexington.  

The 4-6 Letcher County Central Lady Cougars will play at Cordia in a district game this afternoon at 6:00pm.

They play at Hazard on Monday.

The Cincinnati Reds salvaged game 3 of the series against the Cardinals with a 4-0 win in the afternoon game yesterday in St. Louis.

The Reds went 2-4 on their first road trip and are 3-6 on the year.  They are in last place in the NL Central, 3.5 games behind Milwaukee.
 
The Reds are off today before a 3 game home weekend series against the Tampa Bay Rays Friday at 7:10 and Saturday and Sunday at 1:10pm.

Title #9 was not meant to be as the UK Wildcats lost to UConn last night 60-54 in the college basketball NCAA Tournament championshp game in Dallas, Texas.

UConn wins their 4th National Championship and Kentucky finishes at 29-11 on the year.

We'll bring you the final Coach Cal Radio Show of the year with Tom Leach tonight at 6:00pm on 103.9 The Bulldog.   

Also, the UK team will have a return home celebration later today in Lexington and we'll air that live here on the Bulldog.  

The exact time for that has not been determined, so just stay tuned.

The 4-4 LCC Lady Cougars softball team is back in action this afternoon at home against 4-3 East Ridge .  Game time is 6:00pm.   They play at Cordia Wednesday.  First pitch is at 6.

The 9-1 Jenkins Lady Cavaliers will begin play against Leslie County this evening at 6:30pm in the 14th Region All A Classic.

The Lady Cavaliers have won 5 straight 14th Region All A Championships.

The 5-4 Letcher County Central Cougar baseball team will be back on the field today at home in a district game against unbeaten 5-0 Knott County Central .  First pitch is scheduled for 5:30pm.  

The Jenkins Cavaliers baseball will play at Leslie County today at 6:00pm.

The LCC Cougar Boys and Girls Tennis teams will have a match against Hazard at home this Thursday at 5:30pm.
