The Boys and Girls 2014 53rd District Soccer Tournament championship games are now set.
Tonight at 7:00pm the Letcher County Central Lady Cougars will play the Perry County Central Lady Commodores in the district championship game at 7:00pm at LCC.
Last night in the boys District tournament opening games, Letcher County Central beat Hazard 11-3 and Perry County Central beat Buckhorn, so the LCC Cougar boys will now play Perry County Central Thursday at 7:00pm for the district championship at LCC.
The boys district soccer tournament gets underway tonight at LCC with 2 games. Game one at 6:00pm will be Perry County Central against Buckhorn with Letcher County Central taking on Hazard in game 2 at 8:00pm. The 2 winners will meet for boys soccer district championship game Thursday at 7:00pm at LCC.
In Volleyball, the Letcher County Central Lady Cougars Senior night game with Harlan last night was cancelled. The Senior night ceremony will now take place this evening after the freshman game against Knott County Central.
The Lady Cougars will wrap up the regular season at Betsy Layne Thursday at 7:30pm.
The Jenkins Lady Cavalier Volleyball team will next take on Knott County Central this evening in a doubleheader starting at 5:30pm. They will wrap up the regular season Thursday at Shelby Valley at 6:00pm.
The 53rd District Volleyball tournament begins next week and will be played at Letcher County Central High School.
The 5-2 Letcher County Central Cougars football team will next play at Perry County Central this Friday in the 2nd district game of the season. We'll bring you that game live here on the Bulldog. Kickoff 7:30. Pre-game 6:45.

The 5-1 UK Wildcats are on the road this week to battle the LSU Tigers. Game time Saturday night is at 7:30. Pre-game begins at 6pm here on the Bulldog.
LCC Boys and Girls soccer teams played in a home doubleheader last night. The LCC girls lost to Johnson Central 5-1 and the LCC boys shut out Buckhorn 10-0.
They will have another boys/girls doubleheader on the road at Paintsville this Thursday. Girls at 6:00pm and boys at 8:00pm. It wll be the last regular season game for the girls. The boys will wrap up the regular season with a game at Whitley County Saturday morning at 11:00am.

The Letcher County Central Lady Cougar Volleyball ended a 6 game winning streak last night losing at home to Johnson Central 3-1. The Lady Cougars play Thursday at Pikeville starting at 7:00pm.

The Letcher County Central Boys & Girls Soccer teams battled it out against Region rival Perry County Central on the road last night.
In game 1, the LCC girls lost 2-0 and in game 2 the LCC boys lost in a great match 6-5 in a shootout with penalty kicks.
The LCC girls are 3-4 overall and the boys are 4-3. They next play a boys/girls doubleheader at home against Hazard this Thursday with girls at 6:00pm and boys at 8:00pm.

Letcher County Central Lady Cougar Volleyball team lost Monday at Johnson Central 3-0 and lost last night at Leslie County 3-1. They are 5-6 overall and the Lady Cougars take on June Buchanan at home in a district doubleheader this evening at 5:30 and 6:30.
Jenkins Lady Cavalier Volleyball is 5-5 and will play Shelby Valley at home Thursday at 6:00pm.

HIGH SCHOOL FOOTBALL WEEK 1
Week #1 of high school football across the mountains and the state was plagued with storms & lightning delays along with postponed and shortened games.
The Letcher County Central Cougars welcomed the Berea Pirates Friday to play in the Sports R Us Kickoff Classic and the game only lasted 8 minutes and 50 seconds. With 3:10 to go and the Cougars up 30 to 0 the game was delayed by lightning and eventually called off with the Cougars declared the winner.
LCC Senior QB Zane Blair was 6 of 7 passing for 97 yards and 3 TD's with 3 different receivers, Hunter Hall, Isaiah Tyree and Tanner Lucas.
The other Cougar TD was a 35 yard run by Jaylyn Williams on his only carry of the game.
The Cougars had a total offense of 193 yards on 12 plays and four possessions.
The Cougars will play 0-1 McCreary Central this Friday at home. Game time is 7:30pm. Pregame begins at 6:45pm here on the Bulldog.
Jenkins and Phelps played to a 0-0 halftime score before the game was called due to storms. It will go down as a tie for both teams.

They won 1 game and lost 3.
They beat Pike County Central and lost to Ashland Blazer, West Creek, TN and Raceland.
