Letcher County Central boys Soccer won 11-1 over Buckhorn at home last night to improve their record to 5-2.

LCC Soccer will next play in a boys/girls doubleheader tonight at home against Hazard.

The boys play at 7:00pm and the girls at 8:00pm.

They will also play Perry County Central in a boys/girls doubleheader Thursday at 6:00 and 7:30pm.

The Letcher County Central Cross Country team ran at Harlan Co. last Tues. and the Boys and Girls team placed first beating Harlan County, Bell County and Whitley County.

The Girls Varsity team was lead by Senior Leanna Bryant

The Boys Varsity team was lead by Junior Trevor Wayne

Nick Spangler won the Middle School Race

Bailey Kincer won the Elementary Girls Race

The LCC boys and girls Cross Country will compete this afternoon in the Bell County All-Comers meet at Bell County High School.  

The meet starts at 5:00pm.

They will also compete this Saturday in the Southern Harrier Invitational at Somerset.

Letcher County Central Volleyball won 3-0 over Harlan yesterday on the road.

The score was 25-12, 25-6 and 25-15.

The 4-7 Lady Cougars will play at Perry County Central tonight at 7:00pm.

The 2-1 Letcher County Central Cougars will be on the road again this week as they play at the 0-2 Pike County Central Hawks on Friday night.   

Kickoff will be at 7:30pm with the pre-game show starting at 6:45pm here on the Bulldog.  

The 1-1 Jenkins Cavaliers will resume play this Friday after having last week off.

The Cavaliers will stay home to welcome Clinton County.  

Kickoff is set for 8:00pm.

It's the Governor's Cup Game this Saturday as the 1-1 UK Wildcats will face the Louisville Cardinals at Commonwealth Stadium.   

Kickoff is at 12noon.   Pre-game begins at 10:30am Saturday here on the Bulldog.

In week 3 of high school football,  the Letcher County Central Cougars Football team played on the road for the first time this season and lost to the Hazard Bulldogs 26-21.

The Cougars led 21-20 at halftime.

The 2-1 Cougars will hit the road again this week as they play at the 0-2 Pike County Central Hawks on Friday night.   

Kickoff will be at 7:30pm with the Pre-game Show starting at 6:45pm here on the Bulldog.  

The Cougar JV team play tonight at Leslie County.  Game time is 6:00pm.

The 1-1 Jenkins Cavaliers had the weekend off with the open week.  

They will resume play this Friday as they stay home to welcome Clinton County.  

Kickoff is set for 8:00pm.

In other mountain games over the weekend:

Belfry beat Harlan County game in the game of the week at Harlan County 21-12.

Bell County held off Whitley County 21-14

Perry Central lost to Tates Creek 35-14

and Knott County Central beat Phelps 44-22

Letcher County Central Volleyball is 3-7 on the year and will next play tonight at Harlan city school.   

The match begins at 6:00pm.

Letcher County Central Boys and Girls Soccer both lost at Estill County on Saturday.

The boys ended their 4 game win streak with a 4-0 loss and the girls lost their 2nd in a row 5-2.

The LCC boys soccer will play Buckhorn at home tonight at 7:00pm.

The LCC girls soccer will next play Tuesday at home against Hazard, part of a boys and girls doubleheader.

The Letcher County Central Cross Country team will compete Tuesday in the Bell County All-Comers meet at Bell County High School.

The UK Wildcats won their home opener on Saturday beating Miami, Oh 41-7.  

The 1-1 Cats will face Louisville this Saturday at Commonwealth Stadium.   Kickoff is at 12noon.

The Letcher County Central boys and girls soccer teams will next play on Saturday in a boys/girls doubleheader at Estill County.

The unbeaten 5-0 girls play at 12 noon.  The 4-1 and winners of 4 straight boys team will play at 2:00pm.

The 1-1 Jenkins Cavaliers are off this week with an open date and will be home next Friday to welcome Clinton County.   Kickoff on Friday September 13th at Jenkins is set for 8:00pm.

Youth football teams featuring 2nd through 5th grade and middle school kids from several county schools will be competing in an all day bowl extravaganza.  

There will be seven games played throughout the day with the first game starting at 10:00am.  

Concessions will be available.

Admission will be adults $3.00 & children $2.00

It's week 3 of high school football across Kentucky and tonight the Letcher County Central Cougars will be on the road for the first time this season.

2-0 LCC will battle the 0-1 Hazard Bulldogs at Daniel Field in Hazard.

Kickoff is set for 7:30pm this evening and we'll have the game here on the Bulldog with the Cougar Countdown Pre-game Show starting at 6:45.

The 1-1 Jenkins Cavaliers are off this week with an open date and will be home next Friday to welcome Clinton County.   

Kickoff on Friday September 13th at Jenkins is set for 8:00pm.

The big game of the night in the mountains will be Belfry at Harlan County.   

These two teams are ranked #1 and #2 in the WYMT Mountain Top 10 and will feature two coaching legends going head to head with similar styles, Tom Larkey and Phillip Haywood.

It was a boys and girls doubleheader for LCC Soccer last night at Prestonsburg.

The Letcher County Central Boys Soccer team has reeled off 4 straight wins.

They beat the Blackcats on the road last night 2-1.  

The win puts them at 4-1 on the season.

The LCC Lady Cougars also won over Prestonsburg to remain unbeaten at 5-0.

The Soccer teams will have another boys/girls doubleheader this Saturday at Estill County.

The girls play at 12 noon.  The boys play at 2:00pm.

The Letcher County Central Lady Cougar Volleyball team lost at Hazard last night 3 games to 1.

The scores were 25-19, 20-25, 25-18 and 25-19.

The Lady Cougars are now 3-5 and will play Belfry at home this Thursday  at 6:30pm.

The 2-0 Letcher County Central Cougar Football team will head to Hazard for their first road game of the season this Friday as they take on the Bulldogs at Daniel Field.  

Hazard is 0-1 on the year after losing to Pikeville in a 62-50 shootout Saturday in the Pike County Bowl.

Game time is set for 7:30pm and we'll have the game here on the Bulldog with the Cougar Countdown Pre-game Show starting at 6:45.

We'll recap the Cougars win over McCreary Central and look ahead to the Hazard game as we talk Cougar football tonight at 6:30pm Live from Pine Mountain Grill with Coach Mike Holcomb on the LCC Coaches Show.
