The Whitaker Bank KHSAA Boys Sweet 16 got underway yesterday at Rupp Arena in Lexington.  

In the afternoon session Hopkinsville beat South Oldham 83-62 and Trinity held off Owensboro 55-41.

The night evening games had 15th Region champion, Johnson Central advancing to the final eight with a close win over Campbell County 58-56 and Scott County beat Fleming County 77-66.

The other 2 mountain teams will be action today.   

This afternoon at 12 noon McCracken County will face Wayne County followed around 1:30, 14th Region Champion, Knott County Central will battle Bowling Green.

Tonight's final 2 games of the opening round will feature Bardstown and PRP at 6:30pm, followed by 13th Region Champion Clay County playing Covington Catholic around 8:00pm.

The quartersfinals are Friday, semi-finals on Saturday night and championship game Sunday afternoon.

The Letcher County Central Cougars baseball team 2014 home opener with Leslie County is set for this afternoon and we'll bring you the game live here on the Bulldog.  

First Pitch is at 5:30pm.  Pre-Game begins at 5:15.

The Jenkins Boys baseball team will next play Pike County Central on the road this Friday at 6:00pm.

The Jenkins Lady Cavalier Softball team is now 2-0 after beating Hazard on the road last night 4-1.

The Lady Cavaliers will next play at Powell County tomorrow, Friday, at 6:00pm

The Letcher County Central Lady Cougar Softball team opens their season this Saturday at home against Pike County Central.  

First pitch is at 2:00pm.

The Letcher County Central Boys and Girls Track Team will compete in the All Comers Meet at Bob Amos Park in Pikeville this afternoon at 5:00pm.

The Letcher County Central Tennis match at Hazard scheduled for Friday has been postponed and will be rescheduled.

The LCC Boys and Girls Tennis Teams will play on Saturday at home against Lee County and June Buchanan.  The matches start at 9:00am.

Cincinnati Reds closer Aroldis Chapman was carried off on a stretcher after being struck in the face by a line drive off the bat of Royals catcher Salvador Perez during Wednesday night's Spring Training game.

The terrifying moment abruptly ended the game in the sixth inning with the Royals declared the winner by a score of 6-3.

The Reds said Chapman was taken to Banner Del E. Webb Medical Center in Sun City, where tests indicated fractures above his left eye and nose. He was transferred to Banner Good Samaritan Medical Center, where he will undergo further testing today.

The Reds will take on the Rangers this afternoon at 4:05.

The NCAA Tournament gets underway today and Midwest Region #8 seed, the Kentucky Wildcats, will take on #9 seed Kansas State Friday night at 9:40pm in St. Louis.

The Jenkins Lady Cavalier Softball team shutout June Buchanan 15-0 in 3 innings to win their season opener at home in a district game on Tuesday.  

The Lady Cavaliers will be on the road to play Hazard this afternoon.   

Hazard beat Knott County Central 4-2 in 8 innings yesterday.

The Letcher County Central Lady Cougar Softball team opens their season this Saturday at home against Pike County Central.  

First pitch is at 2:00pm.

The Letcher County Central Cougar Baseball  season opening game at Union High School in Wise County was postponed yesterday.  

The Cougars and Union will make up that game today at 6:00pm

The Cougars home opener with Leslie County is set for tomorrow, Thursday and we'll bring you that game live here on the Bulldog.  First Pitch is at 5:30pm.  Pre-Game begins at 5:15.

The Reds has Tuesday off in spring training and will resume play tonight with a game against the Kansas City Royals at 9:05pm.

Opening Day for the Cincinnati Reds is March 31st at GABP against the St. Louis Cardinals.

The KHSAA Whitaker Bank Boys Sweet 16 State Tournament gets underway this afternoon at Rupp Arena in Lexington and you can listen to every game on AM 920 WTCW.

One mountain team will be in action today and that is 15th Region Champion Johnson Central, returning for the 3rd year in a row.

The Golden Eagles will play Campbell County at 8:00pm tonight.

The other games today will be at 12 noon with South Oldham taking on Hopkinsville, at 1:30 this afternoon Louisville Trinity takes on Owensboro and at 6:30pm tonight it's Scott County and Fleming County.  

14th Region champion Knott County Central will also be playing in 3 straight state tournaments as they take on Bowling Green out of Region 4 tomorrow afternoon at 1:30pm.

13th Region winner Clay County will take on Covington Catholic in the final opening round game of the state tournament tomorrow evening at 8:00pm.

The other two games on Thursday are McCracken County vs. Wayne County and Bardstown plays PRP.

Congratulations to the Butler High School Bearettes out of Louisville.   

They are the 2014 Houchen's Industries Girls Sweet 16 Basketball State Champions.   

Butler beat E-town in the Sunday afternoon championship game 49-38 at Diddle Arena in Bowling Green.

The Cougars will now open the season on the road at Union High School in Wise County, VA tomorrow, Tuesday, at 6:00pm.

The Cougars home opener with Leslie County has been re-scheduled for this Thursday .  First Pitch is at 5:30pm.

The Reds have now won 4 games in a row in Spring Training.   

They beat the Rangers 4-1 on Friday, the Brewers 16-4 on Saturday and the A's 7-6 on Sunday.   

The Reds will battle the Indians next with gametime this afternoon at 4:05pm.

The Reds 2014 season opener is 2 weeks from today against the St. Louis Cardinals.

The Kentucky Wildcats made a strong run in the SEC Tournament this weekend but lost by 1 to #1 Florida in the championship game on Sunday.

The Cats are an 8 seed in the MIdwest Region of the NCAA Tournament, playing in St. Louis.

Opening Day for the Cincinnati Reds is now less than 2 weeks away when they open March 31st at GABP against the St. Louis Cardinals.

The Red have now won 5 games in a row in Spring Training.  

They beat the Indians yesterday 5-4.

The Reds have today off and will battle the Royals at 9:05pm Wednesday.  

Pre-game begins at 8:50pm Wednesday night on AM 920 WTCW.

Today begins the quarterfinals of the KHSAA Girls Sweet 16 State Tournament in Bowling Green and no mountain teams are still playing.

14th Region Champion Perry County Central lost in yesterday's opening round to Marshall County 54-38 and 13th Region Champion Corbin lost 79-70 to George Rogers Clark.  

15th Region Champ Shelby Valley lost to Danville on Wednesday.

Today's quarterfinals will be Ashland Blazer vs Danville at 1:00pm eastern followed by Butler and Lafayette around 2:30.  

Tonight's 2 games will be Marshall County against George Rogers Clark at 7:30 followed by E-Town vs Anderson County around 9.

The semi-finals on Saturday will be at 7:30 and 9:00.

Sunday afternoon's championship game will begin at 3:00pm.

The KHSAA Boys Sweet 16 will be held in Lexington at Rupp Arena next week, Wednesday through Sunday and will feature Knott County Central, Clay County and Johnson Central from the mountains.

Letcher County Central Cougar Baseball begins the 2014 season this Monday March 17th!

The Cougars will take on Leslie County in the opener in a home game with first pitch at 6:00pm.

The Reds finally got back on the winning track at Spring Training yesterday with an 8-2 win over the Dodgers.  

That's only the 2nd win for the Reds in the last 12 games.

The Reds will take on the Rangers tonight at 10:05, the Brewers on Saturday at 4:05 and the A's on Sunday also at 4:05.

Our next Reds Broadcast on AM 920 will be Monday as they the take on the Indians at 4:05.

The season opener is March 31st against the St. Louis Cardinals at GABP.

LSU beat Alabama 68-56 in the SEC Tournament in Atlanta to set up an LSU-Kentucky matchup tonight in the quarterfinals.   

Both teams have won once this year and the Cats and Tigers will play this evening with tipoff at 7:00pm.  

Pre-Game begins at 5:30 on the Bulldog.

If the Cats win tonight they will play the winner of Ole Miss and Georgia around 3:30 on Saturday.

Sunday's championship game is at 3:15 and Sunday is also selection Sunday for the NCAA Tournament.
