The Letcher County Central Lady Cougars basketball team took 4th place in the Beech Holiday Tournament just outside Nashville.  

LCC lost to Beech TN High School of Hendersonville, TN in the 3rd place game yesterday 46-32.  

They won 1 game and lost 2 during the tournament and now stand at 5-5 on the season.  

The Lady Cougars will next play this Saturday at Knott County Central in a 53rd district game.  

We'll bring you that game live here on the Bulldog.  

Tipoff at 7:30 with pregame at 7.

The Jenkins Lady Cavaliers were in action on the road last night in Jackson to play the Breathitt County Lady Bobcats in a 14th Region match up.  

It was a high scoring game with Breathitt County winning over Jenkins 100-80.  

The Lady Cavaliers are now 8-4 and will next play Paintsville at home this Friday at 6:00pm.

The Jenkins Cavalier boys team beat Clintwood VA at home last night 76-38.  

It was the 3rd win on the year for the Cavaliers and they will next play Central HS of Wise VA at home this Thursday at 7:30pm.

The 6-6 Letcher County Central Cougar boys will be back on the court this Thursday at Knott County Central in a district contest.  

Tipoff at 7:30pm and we'll bring you the game here on the Bulldog with pregame beginning at 7:00pm.  

The Cougars will then return home to face Union HS out of VA on Saturday.

The now #15 ranked UK Wildcats won't play again again Wednesday of next week, January 8th, when they open SEC play at home against Mississippi State.

The Letcher County Central Cougar Boys played Thursday, Friday and Saturday in the Pikeville Invitational Tournament at Pikeville High School and brought home the 3rd place trophy.   

The 6-6 Cougars beat North Laurel 69 to 67 in the 3rd place game Saturday.   

LCC beat Phelps 78-47 on Thursday and lost to Pikeville Friday 65-58.   

Chippy Frazier and Josh Owens made the all tournament team for the Cougars.  

Betsy Layne won the PIT beating Pikeville 64-51 on Saturday.

Letcher Central will play again this Thursday Jan 2nd at Knott County Central in a district contest and will return home to face Union, VA on Saturday.

The Jenkins Cavalier Boys lost 2 games in the Mountain Schoolboy Classic at Belfry.

Thursday they lost to Magoffin County 86-59 and they lost to Sheldon Clark Saturday 65-47.  

The 2-8 Cavaliers will next play Clintwood, VA at home tonight with game time at 7:30pm.

The Letcher County Central Lady Cougars will play for 3rd place today in the Beech Holiday Tournament at Beech, TN near Nashville.   

So far the 5-4 Lady Cougars beat Station Camp, TN on Friday 37-35 but lost to Brentwood, TN on Saturday 52-25.  

The Jenkins Lady Cavaliers are 8-3 now after knocking off J.I. Burton out of Wise County, VA at home on Friday.  

The final was 85-61.   

The Lady Cavaliers are back in action tonight on the road at Breathitt County.  

Game time is 7:30.

The UK Wildcats got their signature win of the season on Saturday beating the Louisville Cardinals 73-66.

The Cats won't play again again Wednesday of next week, January 8th, when they open SEC play at home against Mississippi State.

The Jenkins Cavalier Boys will next play today, Friday and Saturday in the Mountain Schoolboy Classic at Belfry.

The 4-3 Letcher County Central Lady Cougars will play this Friday, Saturday and Sunday in the Beech Holiday Tournament in Beech, TN near Nashville.  

The 7-2 Jenkins Lady Cavaliers will next face J.I. Burton, VA at home tomorrow(Friday) at 6:00pm.

The Letcher County Central Cougar boys have evened their season record at 5-5 after beating Phelps 78-47 last night in the opening round of the Pikeville Invitation Tournament at Pikeville HS.   The Cougars will continue play in the PIT today and Saturday.

The Jenkins Cavalier boys lost to Magoffin County 86-59 yesterday in the first round of the Mountain Schoolboy Classic at Belfry.   They will play Sheldon Clark at Belfry on Saturday.

Other scores from Thursday:

Knott County Central beat Henry Clay 74-44 and Cordia knocked off Warren Central 60-54.
Both those scores from the Republic Bank Classic in Lexington.

Shelby Valley over Farragut TN 66-51 at Wayne County
Pike County Central beat Beechwood 53-47 at Bracken County

The Letcher County Central Cougar Boys played 3 games in the Smokey Mountain Classic  in Gatlinburg, TN Thursday, Friday and Saturday.

The Cougars lost to Carter County TN on Thursday in a shootout 110-88,  they lost to East Ridge, TN on Friday in a close one 59-57 and lost to Corbin on Saturday 63-56.

The 4-5 Cougars will next play in the Pikeville Invitational Tournament this Thursday, Friday and Saturday.

The Jenkins Cavalier Boys beat Phelps at home Friday night 83-68 to pick up their 2nd win on the season. 

The Cavaliers will next play this coming Thursday, Friday and Saturday in the Mountain Schoolboy Classic at Belfry.

The Letcher County Central Lady Cougars lost a big 14th Region matchup on the road in Jackson against Breathitt County Friday night 63-57.

The Lady Cougars are 4-3 and will play this Friday, Saturday and Sunday in the Beech Holiday Tournament in Beech, TN near Nashville.  

The Jenkins Lady Cavaliers beat Ooltewah, TN 90-69 and lost to Station Camp, TN 73-60 in the Smokey Mountain Classic in Gatlinburg over the weekend.

The #19 UK Widcats moved to 9-3 overall after beating Belmost 93-80 on Saturday at Rupp Arena in Lexington.  

The Cats are off all week until Saturday when they will take on the Louisville Cardinals at Rupp Arena in Lexington. 

The Cats and Cards will tipoff at 4:00pm with pregame at 2:30pm here on the Bulldog.

The #5 UK Women lost their first game of the year yesterday, playing before the crowd at Rupp Arena, they were beaten by #2 Duke 69-61.

They next play Saturday at home against Grambling State.
