The KHSAA High School Football State semi-finals are now set with 4 teams left in each of the 6 classes.

Friday night in Class A Raceland beat Pikeville 14-3 and Williamsburg knocked out Hazard 21-7.

In Class 2A Somerset outlasted Prestonsburg 28-21.

Belfry blasted Pike County Central 43-6 in Class 3A.

Pulaski County remains unbeaten as they squeezed by Madison Southern 32-28.

Congrats to Williamsburg, Somerset, Belfry and Pulaski County on winning Region Championships.

This Friday in the semi-finals
In Class A Raceland is at Williamsburg and Frankfort at Mayfield.

In Class 2A Somerset is at Newport Central Catholic and Delales is at Murray.

Belfry is at Bourbon County and Wayne County travels to Paducah Tilghman in Class 3A.

In 4A Highlands is at Lexington Catholic and Collins plays at Owensboro.

5A will be Pulaski County at Anderson County and John Hardin at Bowling Green.

6A games are Scott County at Male and Butler at Meade County.

The 14th Region Cheerleading Competition was held Sunday afternoon at Letcher County Central High School.

Winners include:

Small division--Perry Co Central
Medium Division---Letcher County Central
Large Division---Estill County
Super Division--Hazard
and Co ed Division--Jenkins Independent

All the winning squads will competing in their division at State Competition on December 14th at Alltech Arena at the Ky Horse Park in Lexington.

The Letcher County Central Boys and Girls Basketball teams along with cheerleaders and dance team will be introduced during the annual Meet the Cougars tonight beginning at 6:00pm at the LCC Gym.

The #4 UK Wildcat basketball team will be back in action tonight as they take on Cleveland State in the Keightly Classic at Rupp Arena at 7:00pm.  Pregame begins at 5:30pm here on your home of Big Blue, 103.9 The Bulldog

Wednesday the Cats will play Eastern Michigan at a special time of 4:00pm with pregame at 2:30pm on 103.9 The Bulldog.

The UK Football Cats will wrap up the 2013 season this Saturday at home against the Tennessee Volunteers.

Kickoff is 7:00pm with pregame at 5:30pm on 103.9 The Bulldog.

Region championships are up for grabs tonight in round 3 of the KHSAA high school football playoffs.
Good luck to the mountain teams playing tonight:

Class A  Pikeville is at Raceland and Hazard plays at Williamsburg

In Class 2A  Somerset is at Prestonsburg

Class 3A will feature Pike County Central at Belfry

In Class 4A no mountain teams are left

and in Class 5A Madison Southern in at Pulaski County

Next weekend will be the state semi-finals with the state championship games will be held December 6th and 7th in Bowling Green.

Letcher County Central High School will be hosting the 14th Region Cheerleading Competition this Sunday November 24th at 3:00pm at the LCC Gym.   Admission is $5.00.

On Saturday the Letcher County Central Wrestling Team will be competing in the  Take Down Tournament , which is a scrimmage at the Sherman Nease Athletic Center at the Old MC Napier High school beginning at 10:00am.

It's being hosted by Perry County Central.

They will play at Georgia, tomorrow, Saturday.  

Kickoff is 7:00pm with pregame at 5:30pm on 103.9 The Bulldog.

The #4 ranked and 4-1 UK Wildcats basketball team will next play two games next week.

It's the final two games of the Keightly Classic and both will be played at Rupp Arena.

Monday Nov 25th the Cats will play Cleveland State at 7:00pm and then Wednesday(the day before Thanksgiving)  they will play Eastern Michigan at a special time of 4:00pm.

High School Basketball season is just around the corner.

The Letcher County Central Cougar Boys will open the season at home on December 3rd against Harlan County.

The Jenkins Cavalier Boys open up under new coach Pat Jervis on December 3rd with a district game at Knott County Central.

The defending 14th Region Champion Letcher County Central Lady Cougars will begin play on December 2nd at Johnson Central.

The Jenkins Lady Cavaliers will open the new season at J.I. Burton in Wise County also on December 3rd.

The 3-1 and now #4 ranked UK Basketball Cats will next play tonight at home in Rupp Arena against Texas-Arlington in the Keightly Classic.

Friday night will be round 3 of the KHSAA high school football playoffs and a handful of mountain teams will be playing for a Region Championship and a spot in the state semi-finals next weekend.

Friday night in:

Round 2 of the KHSAA high school football playoffs are in the books and the season has ended for several mountain teams while others move one step closer to a state championship.

In Class A, Thursday night, Pikeville beat Allen Central 49-14.

On Friday night in Class A
Hazard knocked off Campbellsville 34-8
Raceland beat Paintsville 42-12
and Williamsburg blanked Pineville 42-0

In Class 2A

Somerset outlasted Middlesboro 19-13 in OT
and Prestonsburg held off Danville 20-13

In Class 3A

Belfry blasted Lawrence County 42-6
Pike County Central beat Breathitt County 26-20
Bell County came up short against Louisville Central losing 14-11
and Wayne County bounced Corbin 36-0

In Class 4A

Johnson Central's unbeaten season ends with a 42-14 loss to Covington Catholic

and in Class 5A

Madison Southern knocked off the Black Bears of Harlan County  41-28
and Pulaski County blasted Perry County Central 43-0.

8 teams are left in each class as the Region Championship games will be held this Friday.

The State Championship games will be held in Bowling Green Friday and Saturday December 6 and 7.

The UK Basketball Cats are now 3-1 after knocking off Robert Morris at Rupp Arena last night in the Bill Keightly classic.   The final was 87-49.

The Cats will next play Tuesday at home against Texas-Arlington also in the Keightly Classic.

The UK Football Cats lost on the road in Nashville to the Vanderbilt Commodores on Saturday afternoon 22-6.

The Cats are back on the road at Georgia this Saturday.
