Region Tournament basketball continued Thursday night across the mountains.

In the 14th Region Boys Tournament at Breathitt County, Estill County beat Buckhorn 55-49 and Knott County Central over Wolfe County 71-52.

In Monday's boys semi-finals at Jackson, in game one Letcher County Central will take on Perry County Central at 6pm and Estill County will play Knott County Central around 8.  We'll bring you the LCC-Perry Central boys semi-final game Monday here on the Bulldog with pre-game starting at 5:30pm.

The championship game will be Tuesday at 7.

Last night in the boys 13th region tournament  at the Arena in Corbin South Laurel beat Clay County 63-51 and Harlan County got by Lynn Camp 57-52.  Saturday's 13th Region boys semi-finals will be Knox Central against Corbin and South Laurel playing Harlan County.  THe Championship game will be Monday

The boys 15th region tournament continued night at the Eastern KY Expo Center in Pikeville with South Floyd holding off Magoffin County 74-70 and Pikeville over Belfry 72-62.  Saturday's semi-finals will be Johnson Central taking on Lawrence County and South Floyd against Pikeville.  The championship game will be Monday for the boys 15th region.  

The girls 14th Region Tournament semifinals will be held this evening at Memorial Gym in Hazard.  At 6pm Letcher County Central will take on Leslie County with Knott County Central and Perry County Central playing around 8pm.  We'll bring you the LCC-Leslie County girls game tonight here on the Bulldog with tipoff at 6pm and the Appalachian Wireless pre-game show starting at 5:30.

The girls 14th Region championship game will be Saturday at 7 with all games being played at Hazard.

The girls 15th Region tournament at the Eastern KY Expo Center continues tonight.  The semi-finals will be Pike County Central against Johnson Central and Paintsville taking on South Floyd.  The championship game will be Saturday at 5.

The girls Sweet 16 state tournament will begin next Wednesday March 8th at the BB & T Arena in Newport on the campus of Northern KY University.  The boys sweet 16 will be at Rupp Arena starting on Wednesday March 15th.  

The #9 KY Wildcats will wrap up the regular season on the road at Texas A & M tomorrow.  Tipoff is at 12 noon with pre-game at 10:30am here on the Bulldog.  

The Men's SEC Tournament will be March 8th through 12th at Bridgestone Arena in Nashville.  The Cats get a by to the quarterfinals where they'll play Friday March 10th at 1pm.

The girls 14th Region Tournament opening round games continued last night at Memorial Gym in Hazard.

In game one Knott County Central beat Estill County 62-51 and then Perry County Central took care of Wolfe County 57-42.

That sets up the girls 14th Region semifinals on Friday evening.  At 6pm Letcher County Central will take on Leslie County with Knott County Central and Perry County Central playing around 8pm.  We'll bring you the LCC-Leslie County game here on the Bulldog with tipoff at 6pm and the Appalachian Wireless pre-game show starting at 5:30.

In the girls 13th Region Tournament at the Arena in Corbin last night South Laurel beat Knox Central 65-27 and Harlan got by Clay County 47-42.  Friday's semifinals will be Harlan County against North Laurel at 6pm followed by South Laurel taking on Harlan around 8pm.  The girls 13th Region championship game will be Saturday at 7.

The girls 15th Region tournament provided exciting action for the 2nd night in a row as Paintsville squeezed by Shelby Valley 46-45 in overtime plus South Floyd beat Lawrence County 67-49.    Friday's semi-finals will be Pike County Central against Johnson Central and Paintsville taking on South Floyd with the championship game Saturday at 5pm.  All 15th Region games are being played at the Eastern KY Expo Center in Pikeville.

The boys 15th region tournament begins tonight at the Eastern KY Expo Center in Pikeville with Johnson Central facing Shelby Valley at 6:30 and Lawrence County against Allen Central at 8.

The KY Wildcats came from being down 19 points in the first half on Senior night to beat Vanderbilt at home last night 73-67.    With the win the Cats clinched a share of it's 48th SEC regular season title and improved to 25-5 overall and 15-2 in the SEC.  The Cats will wrap up the regular season on the road at Texas A & M Saturday.  Tipoff is at 12 noon with pre-game at 10:30am here on the Bulldog. 

The Men's SEC Tournament will be March 8th through 12th at Bridgestone Arena in Nashville.

In Friday night's girls 53rd district tournament championship game Knott County Central beat Letcher County Central 61-55.   Both teams advance to the 14th Region Tournament at Hazard that gets underway tonight.

Two girls games are going on tonight at Memorial Gym in Hazard.
At 6pm- The Letcher County Central Lady Cougars will take on 55th district champion, Breahitt County at 6pm.  We'll bring you the LCC girls game here on the Bulldog with pre-game starting at 5:30. 

The other game tonight around 8pm will be Leslie County against Owsley County.

Two more games will be played Tuesday.

Knott County Central will face Estill County at 6pm followed by Perry County Central agianst Wolfe County at 8pm.

The girls semi-finals will be Friday and Championship game on Saturday at Memorial Gym in Hazard.

Malik Monk scored 30 of his 33 points in the second half, Bam Adebayo added 18 points with 15 rebounds and Kentucky rallied past No. 13 Florida for a 76-66 victory Saturday to take over the SEC lead.  KY is now 24-5 overall and 14-2 in the SEC.  Florida falls to 23-6 overall and 13-3 in the SEC.  The Cats have 2 more games left in the regular season.  They will play Vanderbilt in Lexington tomorrow night with a 9pm tipoff. Pre-game starts at 7:30 here on the Bulldog.  They wll then play Texas A & M on the road Saturday with a 12 noon tipoff.

The No. 22 University of Kentucky women basketball team has earned the No. 4 seed and a double-bye in the 2016-17 Southeastern Conference Tournament in Greenville, South Carolina.   Kentucky will begin the event Friday at 2 p.m. ET in the quarterfinals and will play the winner of fifth-seeded Tennessee vs. 12th-seeded Alabama or 13th-seeded Vanderbilt.

The Letcher County Central Lady Cougars got by Breathitt County 63-53 last night in the opening Round of the girls 14th Region Tournament at Hazard! Emma Maggard had a double double of 22 points and 10 rebounds,  Paige Caudill had 10 boards and Cameron Kincer put in 18 points including four 3's for the LCC girls who will now advance to the semifinals on Friday to face Leslie County who beat Owsley County 81-64 in last night's 2nd game. LCC-Leslie County will tip off at 6 Friday and we'll have all the action on 103.9 The Bulldog. The Appalachian Wireless pre-game will begin at 5:30!

The girls 14th Region Tournament continues tonight at Hazard with Knott County Central taking on Estill County at 6pm followed by Perry County Central against Wolfe County. 

Again the semifinals will be Friday starting at 6 and the girls championship game is Saturday at 7.

The Girls 15th Region Tournament started last night at the Eastern KY Expo Center in Pikevile with Pike County Central beating Betsy Layne 57-50 and in Overtime Johnson Central squeezed by Pikeville 69-68.  Tonight's 2 games will be South Floyd against Lawrence County at 6:30 with Shelby Valley taking on Paintsville at 8.

The KY Wildcats are back up to #9 in the latest rankings this week sitting at 24-5 overall and 14-2 in the SEC.  The Cats have 2 more games left in the regular season.  They will play Vanderbilt in Lexington tonight with a 9pm tipoff. Pre-game starts at 7:30 here on the Bulldog. It's senior night tonight for the Cats as they honor Dominique Hawkings, Michael Mulder and Derek Willis.  Kentucky will then play Texas A & M on the road Saturday with a 12 noon tipoff to finish the regular season.

In girls district championship games last night:

In the 54th it was Perry County Central beating Leslie County 66-45

In the 55th Breathitt County knocked off Wolfe County 66-40

and in the 56th it was Owsley County edging Estill County 49-47.

The boys and girls 53rd district championship games will be played tonight at Knott County Central's Morton Combs Athletic Complex.

In game 1, the girls championship game, at 6pm, the Letcher County Central Lady Cougars will take on Knott County Central.  In game 2, the boys championship game around 8pm, the Letcher County Central Cougars will face Knott County Central.  We'll bring you both 53rd district championship games tonight live here on the Bulldog with the Appalachian Wireless Pre-game show starting at 5:30.

Also tonight Perry County Central plays Buckhorn at PCC in the boys 54th district championship game,  in the 55th boys championship game Breathitt County will face Wolfe County and the boys 56th district championship game will be Powell County against Estill County. 

The 14th Region Tournaments will begin next week with the girls tournament at Memorial Gym in Hazard and for the boys at the Woods Colisueum, Breathitt County HS at Jackson.

The No. 11 Kentucky Wildcats will take on No. 13 Florida in Lexington tomorrow in a big rematch. game.  Florida beat KY 88-66 on Feb 4th in Gainsville. 

KY and Florida will tip off at 2pm tomorrow afternoon here on the Bulldog with pre-game starting at 12:30.
