The Letcher County Central Cougar boys picked up a big district win last night on the road over Cordia 69-59. Torrell Carter had 39 to lead the Cougars, who have won 5 of their last 6 games and improve to 17-8 overall.
The LCC boys will next play at Leslie County on Thursday. The next home game for the LCC boys will be Saturday against Union VA and it will be senior night for the Cougars. We'll bring you the Saturday game here on the Bulldog with tipoff at 7:30 and pre-game at 7.

Wenyen Gabriel scored a career-high 23 points, Malik Monk also had 23 and No. 15 Kentucky withstood a late LSU rally for a 92-85 home victory last night.
The Cats improve to 19-5 overall and 9-2 in the SEC.

The Letcher County Central Lady Cougars led the #19 state ranked Harlan County Lady Black Bears at 11 at halftime but couldn't hold on for the upset win, eventually losing by 11, 67-56. The Lady Cougars Shelby Hall had 25 points to lead the way, Emma Maggard tossed in 13 points along with 8 rebounds. The Lady Cougars are now 14-11. Harlan County has won 20 games in a row and is 23-2 overall.

The Kentucky Wildcats fell to #15 in the latest rankings after losing to Florida Saturday night. The Cats are 18-5 overall and 8-2 in the SEC. They will return to action tonight at Rupp Arena as they host the LSU Tigers, who are 9-13 overall and 1-9 in the SEC. Tipoff is set for 7 p.m. with pre-game at 5:30 this evening here on the Bulldog.
The Letcher County Central Cougars beat June Buchanan 72-38 in a district game last night. The Cougars will then play a make up game at Perry County Central tomorrow, Saturday, with varsity at 7:30. They will then play at Cordia in a district game on Tuesday.

De’Aaron Fox scored 19 points, but #8 Kentucky fell to No. 24 Florida 88-66 on Saturday night in Gainsville.
Malik Monk was the only other Wildcat in double figures, scoring 11 points in the game. Bam Adebayo had nine points and a team-high seven rebounds for Kentucky.
Kentucky is now 18-5 overall and 8-2 in the SEC). They have lost 3 of their last 4 games.
