In high school baseball, the Letcher County Central Cougars pulled out a nice win over the Hazard Bulldogs yesterday at home 5-4.  

The game was close throughout but a clutch hit by Stephen Fox with bases loaded in the bottom of the 7th scored Dakota Yonts from 3rd to give LCC the win to improve to 8-7 overall.  

Jarrett Fields with 3 runs scored, 3 stolen bases and 4 for 4 with 4 singles was named our Appalachian Wireless Player of the Game.

The Cougars are back home against Powell County tonight with first pitch at 7:00pm.  

They will then play Bath County on Saturday at Cordia at 4:00pm.

The Jenkins Cavaliers lost to Phelps at home last night 11-5.   They will next play Letcher County Central at Jenkins this Tuesday at 5:00pm.

The Letcher County Central Lady Cougars Softball Team plays at home tomorrow in their next game at 2:00pm against South Floyd.  

The Lady Cougars will play Perry County Central at home Monday at 6:00pm and we'll broadcast that game live here on the Bulldog with Pre-game starting around 5:45pm.  

The 11-1 Jenkins Lady Cavaliers softball team will play next this weekend in the Lyndell Potter Memorial at Pikeville HS.

Jenkins will play East Ridge tonight at 6:00pm and on Saturday they will take on Clay County at 10:00am  and Johnson Central at 3:15pm.  

Again all games at Pikeville HS.

The Letcher County Central Boys and Girls Tennis Teams will have a match on Saturday at Oneida Baptist.

The Reds are 6-9 overall in 5th place in the NL Central, 4.5 games behind the Milwaukee Brewers.

The Reds had the day off on Thursday but will begin a 3 city, 10 game road trip this afternoon.

They will play 3 against the Cubs, 4 in Pittsburgh against the Pirates and 3 at Atlanta with the Braves.
 
All 3 games this weekend in Chicago against the Cubs Friday, Saturday and Easter Sunday will be day games and begin at 2:20.  Pre-game starts at 1:50 each day on AM 920.

The 7-7 Letcher County Central Cougars baseball team will take on Hazard this afternoon at home in a 14th Region matchup.  First pitch is at 5:30pm We'll broadcast that game here on the Bulldog with the Cougar Countdown Pre-game at 5:15pm.

The 1-9 Jenkins Cavaliers next game will be at home against Phelps at 7:00pm this evening.

The 5-5 Letcher County Central Lady Cougars Softball Team will also be in action with a road game at Harlan at 6:00pm today.

The Letcher County Central Lady Cougars Softball Team picked up a nice 14th Region win last night beating Hazard on the road 9-4.   The Lady Cougars even their record at 5-5.  They will play at home today against Central HS of Wise County VA at 6:00pm and at Harlan at 6:00pm on Thursday.

14th Region All A Champions, the Jenkins Lady Cavaliers, will play next in the Lyndell Potter Memorial at Pikeville HS this Friday and Saturday.   Jenkins will play East Ridge on Friday along with Clay County and Johnson Central on Saturday.

The Letcher County Central Cougars beat Jenkins at home last night for a district win and moving their record to 7-7 overall.  The Cougars will play today in London against North Laurel.  Game time is at 6:30pm.  They have a 14th Region home game this Thursday against Hazard at 5:30pm.  We'll broadcast that game here on the Bulldog.

The Jenkins Cavaliers next game will be at home this afternoon against June Buchanan in a district game starting at 5:30pm.

The Letcher County Central Boys and Girls Track Teams competed in the Lake Cumberland Classic Invitational in Somerset on Saturday.  The Boys placed 3rd and the Girls placed 9th overall and received several medals.  24 quality teams competed in the event.  The boys and girls LCC Track Teams will compete this Thursday at Leslie County against several other teams in the Leslie County All Comers Meet at 5:00pm in Hyden.

The Letcher County Central baseball game at North Laurel, The Letcher County Central softball game at home against Central HS of Wise County VA plus the LCC Tennis Match at Pikeville were all cancelled on Tuesday due to the weather.

The 5-5 Letcher County Central Lady Cougars Softball Team will next play at Harlan at 6:00pm on Thursday.

The Reds picked up a win and a loss on Tuesday.   In the completion of a weather suspended game from Monday, the Reds lost to the Pirates in game one yesterday, 8-7.   They followed that with a full game win over the Pirates 7-5.  The Reds and Pirates will play the rubber match of this 3 game series this afternoon at 12:35.  Pre-game begins at 12:05 this afternoon on AM 920, WTCW.   Today's game will wrap up the 6 game homestand for the Reds.  They are off tomorrow before playing 3 in Chicago against the Cubs Friday, Saturday and Easter Sunday.  All 3 games will be day games and begin at 2:20.

With an 8-1 win in the championship game over Wolfe County on Friday night, the Jenkins Lady Cavaliers are the 14th region All A champion for the 7th year in a row.  Wolfe County came into the championship game with a 12-1 record.  Jenkins has now won 8 games in a row and is 11-1 overall.   The Lady Cavaliers will advance to the All A State Tournament on Saturday & Sunday April 26th and 27th at Jack Fischer Park in Owensboro.   Jenkins next game is tonight in district action at Knott County Central.  Game time is 6:00pm.

The 4-5 Letcher County Central Lady Cougars are back in action today at Hazard against the Lady Bulldogs.  Game time is 6:00pm.   They play at home on Tuesday at 6:00pm against Central HS out of Wise County, VA.  

The Letcher County Central Cougars went 1-2 over the weekend in 3 road games and are now 6-7 overall.

The Cougars lost to Lawrence County Friday afternoon 8-5.  On Saturday they lost at Ravenswood, West Virginia 4-3 and beat Scott, West Virginia 6-4.

The Cougars have 3 home games this week and will play at home today in a county, district matchup against the 1-8 Jenkins Cavaliers.   Game time is 5:00pm.  We'll bring you today's LCC-Jenkins baseball game here on the Bulldog.  Pre-game begins at 4:45.  

The Reds took 1 game of 3 this weekend at home against the Tampa Bay Rays.   The Reds lost Friday 2-1 and 1-0 on Saturday before winning Sunday afternoon 12-4.

The Reds continue the 2 team, 6 game home stand as they play the first of 3 against the Pittsburgh Pirates tonight at Great American Ballpark.   First pitch tonight is at 7:10pm with pregame on AM 920 beginning at 6:40pm.
