In high school baseball yesterday....

The Letcher County Central Cougars lost to Perry County Central 9-0 at home.  The Cougars are 0-2 on the year and will next play at Harlan County on Thursday at 6pm.

Other baseball scores.....

Buckhorn over Owsley County 11-1 in 5 innings
Knott County Central over Leslie County 15-1
and Shelby Valley beat Ridgeview, VA 11-1 in 5 innings.

We didn't get a score on the Jenkins-Betsy Layne game but the Cavaliers will play next on Friday at home against Buckhorn at 6pm. 

Letcher County Central Lady Cougar softball  begins this Saturday March 18th at Belfry. The Lady Cougars will play Henry Clay at 11am then Belfry at 1.   Jenkins Lady Cavalier softball will begin tomorrow, Tuesday, March 14th with a doubleheader against JI Burton VA at home.

The Boys Sweet 16 Basketball State Tournament begins tomorrow at Rupp Arena in Lexington. 14th Region champion the Perry Central Commodores will take on 15th Region champion the Pikeville Panthers in an all mountain first round game Wednesday afternoon at 1:30pm.  13th region champion  the Harlan County Black Bears play Scott High School also on Wednesday at 6:30pm.  You can hear all games of the Boys Sweet 16 from opening round to championship game Wed-Sunday on CBS Sports Radio AM 920 WTCW. 

The UK Wildcats are the #2 seed in the South Region of the NCAA Tournament and will face #15 seed Northern KY in Indianapolis this Friday night at 9:30pm.  Pre-game will start around 8pm here on the Bulldog. 

The No. 18 University of Kentucky women’s basketball team has been selected as an at-large team in the 2017 NCAA Women’s Basketball Tournament. 21-10 and Fourth-seeded Kentucky will face 13th-seeded Belmont in the first round on Friday at Memorial Coliseum in Lexington at 12 Noon ET.
