The Letcher County Central Cougars baseball team has won 3 in a row and is 11-8 on the 2014 season heading into a big weekend of play.  The Cougars beat Jenkins on the road in a district matchup last night 21-3.  Tonight the LCC Cougars will take on Breathitt County at home at 6:00pm and then Saturday the Cougars will host the 3rd Annual Buddy Roe Invitational.  The Cougars will play Harlan County at 10 Saturday morning then play Estill County at 12:30pm.  Harlan County and Estill County will play the final game Saturday at 3:00pm to wrap up the Buddy Roe Classic.

The Jenkins Cavaliers will play Knott County Central at home this afternoon at 5:00pm in a district game.  

In high school softball, the 16-2 Jenkins Lady Cavaliers are getting ready for their 8th straight appearance in the All A State Tournament tomorrow at Jack Fischer Park in Owensboro.  They play Middlesboro at 9:00am Saturday to begin pool play of the double elimination All A State Tournament.

The 6-7 Letcher County Central Lady Cougars will play in and host the Wizard of Ozz Classic featuring several teams today and Saturday at LCC.  The tournament will honor retiring Letcher Central Athletic Director Ozz Jackson.  In the tournament, the Lady Cougars will play Belfry this afternoon at 5:30pm and then Shelby Valley at 8:30pm.  They will also play on Saturday.  

The Letcher County Central Boys and Girls Track teams will compete today in the Area 9 District Championship being held at Leslie County High School.

The Letcher County Central Boys and Girls Tennis Teams will take on Oneida Baptist today here at home at 5:30pm.

The Reds took 3 of 4 games from the Pirates in Pittsburgh and have won 7 of their last 9 games.

They are now 5 games back of Milwaukee in 3rd place in the NL Central with a 500 record of 11-11.  

The Reds will wrap up this 3 city 10 game road trip with a series this weekend in Atlanta against the Braves.   Game one tonight is at 7:35.  They play at 7:05 on Saturday and 1:35pm on Sunday.  Catch all 3 games on AM 920 WTCW.
