The Girls Sweet 16 State Tournament got underway Thursday at Diddle Arena in Bowling Green.  

Ashland Blazer beat Henderson County 56-48 in the first game of the opening round.   

In game two of the afternoon 15th Region champ Shelby Valley played tough but lost to Danville, coached by Letcher County native and former Whitesburg Lady Jacket assistant coach Judie Mason 52-48.

Last night Butler held off Newport Central Catholic 54-52 and Lafayette beat the All A state champion Glasgow 61-47.

Today's games will feature 14th Region champion, the Perry County Central Lady Commodores playing at 1:00pm eastern against Region 1 champion Marshall County.

Region 13 champ Corbin will play GRC of Winchester around 2:30 today.

The two final opening round games tonight will be E-town playing Sacred Heart at 7:30pm followed by Anderson County and Meade County.

The Quarterfinals are Friday, Semi-finals on Saturday and championship game Sunday.

The Boys Sweet 16 State Tournament will be held next week at Rupp Arena in Lexington.

Letcher County Central Cougar Baseball begins the 2014 season this Monday March 17th!

The Cougars will take on Leslie County in the opener in a home game with first pitch at 6:00pm.

All LCC students will get in FREE on opening day and be sure to wear BLUE!!

The Jenkins Boys open their season Tuesday March 18th at home against Phelps.

The LCC Girls Softball opens March 31st at South Floyd.

The Jenkins Girls Softball will open Monday March 17th at Hazard.

The SEC Tournament began yesterday in Catlanta.  The winner of today's LSU-Alabama game will play #2 seed Kentucky Friday night at 7:00pm.

Pre-Game begins at 5:30pm Friday here on the Bulldog.
