The Letcher County Central Cougar boys have evened their season record at 5-5 after beating Phelps 78-47 last night in the opening round of the Pikeville Invitation Tournament at Pikeville HS.   The Cougars will continue play in the PIT today and Saturday.

The Jenkins Cavalier boys lost to Magoffin County 86-59 yesterday in the first round of the Mountain Schoolboy Classic at Belfry.   They will play Sheldon Clark at Belfry on Saturday.

Other scores from Thursday:

Knott County Central beat Henry Clay 74-44 and Cordia knocked off Warren Central 60-54.
Both those scores from the Republic Bank Classic in Lexington.

Shelby Valley over Farragut TN 66-51 at Wayne County
Pike County Central beat Beechwood 53-47 at Bracken County


The Letcher County Central Lady Cougars begin play today in the Beech Holiday Tournament at Beech TN just outside Nashville.  They will play 3 games in 3 days, today, tomorrow and Monday.  

The Jenkins Lady Cavaliers will be back in action tonight at home against J.I. Burton of Wise County, VA.    Gametime tipoff is 6:00pm from Jenkins.
