The Letcher County Middle School Football Cougars (7th and 8th graders) have made the state playoffs.

The 8-2 Cougars will play the Pikeville Panthers in the first round at the LCC Middle School Cougar Field(old Whitesburg football field) this Saturday October 12th at 12 noon.


The 15-12 Letcher County Central Lady Cougar Volleyball team will take on the Hazard Lady Bulldogs tonight at home.  

Game time is 7:30pm.

This weekend the Lady Cougars will host the East/West Throwdown at LCC featuring several teams playing all day starting at 10:00am.


The Letcher County Central Cougar boys and girls soccer teams will have senior night tonight.

The 11-6 Cougars and 9-4 Lady Cougars will wrap up the regular season with a home doubleheader against Shelby Valley tonight.

The boys play at 6:00pm and the girls around 8:00pm.


LCC Lady Cougar Golfer and Region 10 Runner Up, Victoria Bates, has made it to the KHSAA Girls State Golf Tournament in Bowling Green.

She will have a practice round on today and will compete Friday and Saturday.


In week 8 of high school football, the 3-3 Letcher County Central Cougars are back in action Friday as they begin district play at Harlan County.

Kickoff for the Cougars and Black Bears in the Friends of Coal Bowl is at 7:30pm with pregame on the Bulldog starting at 6:45pm.

The Jenkins Cavaliers will begin district play this Friday when they play at Pineville.

Kickoff is at 7:30pm.

There's one game tonight on the schedule with McCreary Central play at the #6 Class 3A Corbin Redhounds.  

The UK Wildcats are back home this Saturday to welcome the #1 Alabama Crimson Tide.  

Kickoff is at 7:00pm with pregame at 5:30pm here on the Bulldog.
