Week 5 of High School Football is in the books and the Letcher County Central Cougars are 3-2 after making easy work of the Sheldon Clark Cardinals on Homecoming Friday night at Cougar Field.  

Miss Madison Stump was named homecoming queen before the game and the Cougars took care of Sheldon Clark early leading 21-0 after the 1st quarter and 41-0 at halftime before posting a 55-6 win.  

The Cougars are 3-0 at home and welcome in the 2-3 Somerset Briar Jumpers this Friday at  Cougar Field.  

Kickoff set for 7:30pm with pregame at 6:45pm on 103.9 The Bulldog.

Corbin beat Letcher County Central 4-1 in Boys Soccer on Saturday.   

The 8-4 Cougars will play at home against Jackson City Tuesday at 7:30pm.

The LCC Lady Cougar Soccer Team lost to Lawrence County 4-2 on Saturday.  

The 8-3 Lady Cougars won't play again until October 1st when they take on Shelby Valley.


In high school volleyball, Letcher County Central competed in the Citizen's Bank Volleyball Throwdown at Bath County on Saturday.

The lost to Marion County and Hazard while beating East Carter and Louisville Iriqous.

The Lady Cougar volleyball team won't play until October 1 when the battle Betsy Layne on the road.


The UK Wildcats had the weekend off with an open date but will resume play with a big SEC matchup this Saturday in Lexington at Commonwealth Stadium against the Florida Gators.   

The game will kickoff at 7:00pm and we'll have it here on the Bulldog with Countdown to Kickoff starting at 5:30pm.
