Senator Paul Criticizes Health Care Bill

Kentucky Senator Rand Paul says the Senate health care bill that was proposed last week does not go far enough to repeal the Affordable Care Act. Senator Paul says that even though the bill promises to fix healthcare and bring down premiums, there are still too many regulations for premiums to come down. 



Southeast Kentucky Community and Technical College Holds Receptions to Welcome New President

Southeast Kentucky Community and Technical College plans to hold three community receptions to welcome the school’s new president, Dr. Vic Adams. He started his new job at the beginning of the month. The first reception is at the Cumberland campus on June 27, the Middlesboro campus on June 28, and the Whitesburg campus on Thursday. All of the receptions are at 5 PM. 



Body Found in Floyd County

A body was found in Floyd County last night, promoting a death investigation. Few details have been made available yet, but the Kentucky State Police say the body was found on Red Morg Branch Road in the Teaberry community. 



Fatal Car Crash in Pikeville

June 20, 2017

One person died in a two-car accident in Pikeville last night. Police say the accident happened at the intersection of US 23 and US 119. Two people were taken to the Pikeville Medical Center. One man died in the emergency room. The Pikeville Police are investigating the accident. 



Someone Living in Train Caboose in Whitesburg

June 20, 2017

A video shows drug paraphernalia inside a downtown train caboose, indicating someone has been living in the caboose at the Veterans Memorial Park, which had been unlocked. Whitesburg Police say they are investigating, and they have locked the doors to prevent anyone from going inside. Two possible subjects have been identified.
