The People's Fundamental Baptist Church at Dunham will have the Johnson Twins singing this Sunday June 23rd at 11:00am.  Pastor Van Webb welcomes all.
 
Whitesburg VFW Dance
The band Cross Roads will be playing this Saturday night June 22nd at the Whitesburg VFW Post 5829 at Pine Mountain Junction in Whitesburg.  The dance will be from 9:00pm to 1:00am with $5.00 admission.  You must be 21 to enter the dance.
 
Cross Country Bluegrass Two Shows This Week
Cross Country Bluegrass featuring William Caudill and Buddy Young will be performing twice this week.  On Friday June 21st at the Hemphill Community Center at 7:30pm and Saturday June 22nd at 7:30pm at the Country Cabin II in Norton Va.  Everyone is invited to both shows.
 
KBC Letcher County Blood Drive
Blood Donors are not only able to save lives this summer, but they can also win a new car!  Everyone 18 and older who registers to donate blood with Kentucky Blood Center is eligible to win a 2013 Toyota Prius.  The Kentucky Blood Center will have a Letcher County Community Blood Drive on Thursday June 27th from 1:30pm-4:00pm on the KBC Bloodmobile just outside the Whitesburg Wal-Mart in the Whitesburg Plaza.   Blood donors must be 17 years old(16 with parental consent), weigh at least 110 lbs and be in good general health.  For more info call 1-800-775-2522 or visit their WEBSITE.
 
SKCTC Scholarship Golf Classic

The Lillian Faye Simpson Southeast Scholarship Golf Classic will be held Saturday, June 29 at Sleepy Hollow Golf Course at Cumberland.  The event helps raise much-needed  money for the scholarship fund at Southeast Kentucky Community & Technical College and is set to get under way at 9:30 a.m. with a shotgun start. The classic is a four-player scramble format with an entry fee of $65 per player or $250 per team.  The grand prize, a new car from Creech Motors of Harlan, will go to the first participant who can record a hole in one on the par-three sixth hole. Additionally, the first-place foursome will take home $600, with $400 awarded to the second-place team; the third-place unit will earn a cash prize of $200.  Various prizes and merchandise will be awarded to those who record the longest drive on a particular hole, the straightest drive, closest second shot, and a putting contest will also be held prior to the 9:30 a.m. start.  Gift bags will be awarded to participants, lunch will be provided by SKCTC Grill personnel.   Registration will be from 8 a.m. until 9,  and for further specifics regarding the 2013 Lillian Faye Simpson Southeast Scholarship Golf Classic, contact Tiffany Scott, event director, by phoning:  589-3198 or at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots.
