The 19th Annual Cornerstone Church of Whitesburg Spring Teaching Seminar will be held Friday, Saturday and Sunday April 25th, 26th and 27th. The special services will feature on Friday night the 25th at 7:00pm, Dr. Darrell Huffman, Pastor of New Life Church in Huntington, West Virginia. Saturday night the 26th at 7:00pm, Evangalist Lawrence Bishop, Jr will be there from Solid Rock Church in Monroe, Ohio and Sunday morning the 27th at 11:00am, it will be Evangalist Mike Manual with Revelation Power Ministries of Logan, West VA. The Mountain Heritage Festival Committee is now accepting applications for scholarships for the 2014 fall semester. There will be 4 scholarships awarded in the amount of $250.00 each. The scholarships are available to high school seniors and current college students. Applications must be returned by May 15, 2014. The scholarship applications are available at www.mountainheritagefestival.com under the applications heading. Applications will also be available through the school’s guidance counselors or by calling Lee Anna Mullins at 633-9644. The Fifth Annual Special Needs Awareness Evening in Knott County will be held at Hindman Elementary on Thursday, April 24th from 6:00-8:00pm. There will be information booths, kid’s activities along with performances and presentations. For more information please call Beverley Johnson at 785-5872.

Faith Independent Baptist Church at Colson will have an Easter celebration on Easter Sunday starting and 10:00am and going all day. There will be speaker speakers and singing throughout the day including Johnny Campbell better known as the Johnny The Baptist plus bluegrass gospel music from the Coleman Luper family.
