A Floyd County Judge granted bond to 44 year Kimberly Akers who has been charged with murder for driving a vehicle while under the influence and killing 38 year old Heidi Hamilton on Dec. 24, 2017. The crash happened on state Route 979 in the Grethel community. Family members were in shock after the judge’s decision. Akers has been released on a 50 thousand dollar bond and will be incarcerated at home. Hamilton’s fiancée who injured in the crash now uses a walker. Akers next court appearance will be on September 6th.
